The bad part of hearing it coming and starting to feel the shaking is you know something is coming but you don't know how big. And this came with quite a jolt and a bit of rolling. Manage to keep fairly calm through most of it but make no mistake, I was pretty scared by the end of it. Funny thing is right after it stopped, Arlo thought it would be a good idea to eat his breakfast now. I guess just in case another meal wouldn't be coming anytime soon!
Dad says he looked outside during the quake and say the trees swaying and the leaves shaking. Sounds like it would have been neat to see but probably for the best that I didn't look because it would have freaked me out even more! I always feel bad for Sag when he has to go through these quakes on the 13th floor of Denali Towers with it's dampening rollers. He says they continue to sway long after the quake is done.
We fared really well up here at So Near but there was some damage down in the bowl. Bookshelves tipped over, ceiling tiles came down, food fell off shelves at the grocery store and art fell off walls. but nothing too major and no injuries.
Sum total of our "damage" was a few photo frames askew and the basket fell off the dryer. Thanks So Near!
